Activities
Kayaking and Water-sports
All our water sports take place on Lough Arrow or the River Shannon by fully qualified instructors. Although the water isn’t very warm our students have full wet-suits and after just a few minutes of competitions on the lake they are really warmed up!!
Horse-Riding
Horse-Riding is provided by Lough Gara stables who take beginners and also experienced riders. It’s here at Lough Gara stables where we also do archery and falconry. The equestrian centre is also on a farm where we have to prise our students away from all the baby pigs, rabbits, puppies, kittens… 🙂
Zipit
Zipit is a Zip-Line adventure Course in the local forest park. The course is safe and supervised at all times by specialised instructors. Zipit is a really fun day out and is a favourite with our students!

Irish Dancing
Like Riverdance!! – The basic steps are easy and Irish dancing is really fun!
Cookery Lesson
Learn how to cook a traditional Irish dish in a professional kitchen close to the school – students love taking the recipe home to try on friends and family!
Field Sports
The school has fantastic sports facilities where we do many of the afternoon activities. Students get to play volleyball, tag-rugby, rounders and our leaders love introducing students to our national sport – Gaelic Football!
Indoor Activities
From time to time it rains in Ireland and so we have to take our activities indoors! But that doesn’t stop the fun as we get to play team building games and activities. And our students usually go home experts at Dodgeball 🙂
Carrick on Shannon
A beautiful town on the river – students can explore the small shops and cafes to practise their English!
Surfing
Probably our students favourite activity. In Ballinafad we are very close to the beaches of Sligo which are among the most beautiful in the world. Students get a full induction on the beach followed by practise in the water.
Perfect for beginners and pros!
Forest Park
We are so lucky to be located beside the largest (and the most beautiful!) forest and activity park in Ireland. Here there are acres of countryside to explore. This is also the location of ‚Boda Borg‘ where we take students to test their mental strength through a series of quests.

Weekend Excursion
An overnight camping trip! Students, activity leaders and teachers all canoe to an island on Lough Arrow. Together we pitch tents and cook dinner on the campfire – a great friendship building weekend!
